February 23, 2008 ~ Beginings, Boar, and Rugo

 

We meet with Goboshimi to get our quest. Our quest is to go to Ruakili and Kuhaua and find out why there is a shortage of food and supplies. He told us that all the guards he has sent has not reported back. We agree to go on the quest, and he agrees to give us some Kupri and all the supplies we need. We head to the market and do some bad haggling with a smelly andgreasy Rugo. Some one slipped and told him about our mission to go to the other villages. Rugo is all worked up, and we leave to head to Kuhaua. We set up camp in a nice area, it's getting dark. So we set up groups ofthree to take turns watching the camp. No one has any trouble during the watches and we rest peacefully. We decide to choose a leader, so thecandidates give a speech to us. Tex gives a speech on why we should pick him, very persuasive. Layla gives her speech, and dances. Rukia gives an intelligent speech. Taira gives a speech. Artimis gives a very persuasive and intelligent speech. We vote and the decision is Artemis! We pack our things and head out for another day of travel. Tex points out the direction we should go. Our day went well, and we set up for camp again, and continue to watch in groups of three. Things don't go so well on Rayoos group watch. They spot a boar!! Rayoos decides to go one on one with the bore, and gets his left side ripped out...

 

March 8, 2008 ~ The Black Monsters

 

CONTINUED....The boar runs past Rayoo and toward camp,Vex tries to push Rayoo down and Rayoo resist him and Vex fails. Everybody wakes up and sees Vex bounce off of Rayoo. Vex is laying down flat, everybody is else is looking around. We see the boar running away in the distance to the east. Khi attempts to heal Rayoo and succeeds. Artemis, Layla, and Tex take a food inventory and find that the boar ate 1 days worth of food. Also a bag is missing, which had 5 days worth of food in it. While everyone packs there stuff, Rayoo, Artemis and Tex notice a fire about a days journey away. Everybody starts to head towards the fire, after a while they stop. They get to the fire and see two sleeping bags, a girl with red hair and green eyes, poking at the fire with a stick. They try to sneak up on her and she sees them and says, “Hi”. Tex walks up to her and says, “Hi, my name is Tex. We saw your smoke from the fire, this is my dancing friend, Layla.” Rayoo is standing in the back and watching quitly. Rukia walks up and says nicely, ”Hi, what's your name, where are you from and why are you here?” The girl replies, “Hi, my name is Elliriana, but i shall not tell you my business until i know more about you.” Vex leans down and says, “Hey, cutie, do you have a boyfriend?” She replies by getting up and walking towards Artemis, and asks,”What is you business here?” Artemis replies, “We are here hunting boar.” Everybody notices a male with spiky white hair and brown eyes, and he is holding a dead wild dog. Layla walks up to the girl and says, “I forgive my friends and I understand your fear, do you need help with your fire?” She replies, “You all may stay until morning, but then my companion gets to decide what to do with you.” Tenri tells everybody that there is a Huaman crawling on the ground, and every body notices a male about 25, really muscled, at one point he had leather armor on, he looks as if he could be one of the guards. Rukia goes over to heal him, and he tells her that Kuahua has been set on fire by black monsters, guards are dead and they should run, he keept repeating it all, and then he dies. Everybody starts to search him, and as they roll him over, his arm falls open, an item that is black and cold falls out, Vex picks it up and finds that is it unlike anything that he has ever seen before, it is a grayish/black color and is hollow. Layla asks Elliriana what she is doing there, Elliriana replies, ”We are traveling to Kuahua to investigate the food shortage, and if you all would like to journey with us I'm sure my companion and I would enjoy the company” Everybody decides to go to Kuahua together. Rukia goes over to the dead huaman and starts to collect the bones and finds seven shiny disks made of similar material of the gray/black item found earlier. Vex drags the huaman off to the distance so any animals would not be drawn by the smell of the blood. Elliriana skins the dog and soaks it in its brains and spinal fluids, preparing it for armor. Layla is making jewelry out of the dogs teeth. Shadow says, ”I can take everyone to Kuahua really fast but we have to leave now and we have to leave the bones." Layla starts dancing to get Rukia, Khi, and Vex’s attention. She influences Rukia and asks ”Who is following Shadow to the city?” We all decide to go to Kuahua with Shadow. The first day of travel and nothing happens, they travel along a trail that no one would know about if Shadow had not been there. On the second day of travel, they notice a huaman head, with the body lying nearby, the head is bloated, and the eyes bulging out, it smells awful. Rukia, Khi, and Tenri check out the body. Elliriana tells them a story about how the black monsters lived in the volcano and could control fire, they liked to eat babies which is why people threw babies into the volcano, they hoped that the black monsters would have mercy and keep the volcano from exploding. Tex says that the body must have been dead for a week, there were five small disks were in his chest and arms, one of his legs was cut off at his hip, and the other seemed to be ripped of at his knee. The group sees stacks of stuff that is burning. Tex goes to investigate and comes back with a man named Ogo, whose eyes were cut so he could not see and who saw the leader of the black monsters, whose eyes were burning like fire, who had a stick that shot fire and dropped pouches, Obo’s companion acquired a pouch, his companion was the first man that the party had found with the small shiny disks. Obo says, “I was in a smoking building some really hot things fell into my eyes and they were cut” Tex gave him food and water and Ogo immediately fell asleep. Rukia told everybody that she was looking around and found pools of dried blood all over the place, there were bodies everywhere. About 15-20 feet around them were round cylinders, she found thirty. The food supply was restocked and the group decides that they should split up. One group, Shadow, Rukia, Elliriana, Vex and Layla go to Ruakili. Another, Artemis, Tex, Khi, Rayoo and Tenrai, deiced to go back to Palau. The first group heading to Ruakili have a safe journey, when they get there people wave at them very suspiciously. Little dose the 2nd group know, things will go terribly wrong. Back at Palau, Goboshimshi is under house arrest and is replaced by the head guard. The second group is led to a jail cell and they plot their escape...

Palau ~ Donations

 

Back at Palau, Artemis, Tex, Khi, Rayoo and Tenri are in a prison cell when a guard named Mahooli asks us. "What was it like out there?" We lie at first, saying nothing was wrong, then, after being convinced by Rayoo, we told him about the destruction of Kuaha and the small discs they had previously found. He asks us if we want any food, we say yes and Tex wants to see his prepared so that if they try to drug us, he would know. Tex asks how Ogo (the blind guard) is. He says "He is being briefed and what Ogo is saying is very alarming." We are told Kutal, (head guard) is making a banquet but in fact, there never was any banquet. Gobo Shimshi, he tells us, he is fine. He says Gobo stepped down from his position after he heard that there was a full scaled revolt at hand. And Rugu (the smelly greasy merchant) is the head of the revolt. Rugu is apparently working with theives in the "underground". The guards are holding the center part in Palau and the barracks, But every thing else has fallen except the Kupri fields. He also says that Gobo wants to talk to us, but, he tells us, for our own protection, that we have been locked up. He also tells us that the thieves and rebels want to kill us. We are targets. The guards have set up a perimeter around us to protect us. The loss of Ogo's men is really bad. Tex asks if there is a bathroom. Mahooli tells him it is in the corner and gives him a swade blanket for privacy. He also gives us our equipment back along with all our weapons. An hour later, commotion is coming from the front, sounds like hitting against the walling and blood curdling screams, it was the gaurds holding back rebel attacks. A group of men burst in and run towards us. It is Kutal and Gobo Shimshi. Gobo looks at us and helps Kutal untie the chords to the cell. Gobo asks, "What happened in Kuaha?", we tell him about Kuaha and the small discs and draw in the sand what the cylinder looks like and give him some discs. Gobo asks Tenri about the legends. Tenri is fairly new to the priesthood, so he doesn't know. Gobo then tells us about the legend of Palau.

"Do you remember the stories of the black monsters your mothers told you? How 'don't run or the black monsters will get you!? Well, my family has ruled in Palau because my ancestor was Loamahal. Loamahal is the guardian of the 6th month. True myths say every month is ruled by a god. They were the children of the One God, Hua. We are the only family to have a record of what happened before. The One God had children that were not like him nor like us. They came from earth. The children were blessed with abilities, Loamahal is the patron that is ruling over fire. Any born in his time had an ability to make fire. The last of the children was Teccan. Teccan was different from most. Everyone had a gift except him. The others left Teccan with his children. Now Teccan loved his children very much and watched over the world. Many years later, Teccan emerged with a true gift. He had knowledge above all others. He was able to communicate with the earth and was able to bend it. Each champion had a following, each champion gave gifts to other people. The other champions began to whisper of Teccan's growing power. Teccan was draining earth's resources. But Hua loved his creation. More and more people left the champions and followed Teccan. Then, Teccan started a war. During that war, earth as we know it, died. The sun disappeared along with Hua. That's why the priests celebrate the festival. Followers, not of Teccan's, prayed that Hua would come back and save them."

"Teccan hunted down all the champions until 3 or 4 were left. The ones left came up with suicide attacks that would kill Tecccan and themselves. Loamahal knew that the island, our island, was Teccan's power source. Loamahal sent his strongest warriors and himself to the island. In the volcano on the island. Loamahal called forth rage that ended up in the biggest battle to ever be recorded. Loamahal breached the volcano and killed Teccan, then Loamahal died. Teccan's people lived on in the volcano, the ash and soot attached itself to their skin giving them a pitch black appearance. Their eyes full of evil. Loamahal's men killed Teccan's followers and sealed the mountain. The rest protected Hua island. But Teccan's followers have risen, and I am not able to stop them. If Palau falls there is nothing I can do. Babies are thrown to the fire because Hua still lives. Priests celebrate the festival of the last thirteen days in hope of Hua coming out of hiding. Children born during the festival have, shall I say, gifts of immense strength. If they live, they have been known to kill everybody. We kill the babies in hope of protection. Preparation for the festival is 1 month. The priests will do many deeds in order to show Hua how much we need him. There is nothing I can do, I fear that Teccan is rising again. But if Teccan is rising, so is Loamahal. But I need you to go on a mission to Ruakili."

We ask him if our other group is safe.

"Your other group is in great danger, your mission is not safe, you must go to the volcano and stop Teccan"

We get more food and water and five dead guards have fallen so we get their equipment. Gobo tells us of a tunnel leading to the Kupri fields. We are to go at night and follow the beach away from Palau and through the plains, to Ruakili. We go to Kutal's barracks and see 2 bedrolls, one is rolled away to reveal a tunnel. We enter into the tunnel and into the pitch black. After awhile we reach a rope ladder and look up to see the stars and a grass covering. Artemis goes up and the grass gives way onto the beach. We follow the beach and head into the plains. We are 1 1/2 weeks away from the other group. Around midday we encounter a group from Palau. They yell "ATTACK!" They start to pelt us with stones in sling shots. Rayoo's hit but it bounces off his armor. Tex is hit in the arm and deflects. Artemis sees the group behind them and yells to his group that their behind them. Two stones hit him in the face, the 1st hits his face and falls. The 2nd stone hits his arm and bounces off. Khi dodges the stones and Tenri is hit but they just bounce off. The head of the attacking group yells "Give us all your Kupri and we'll let you go!"

We give him all of our Kupri and they walk off, leaving us to head to Ruakili, to face Teccan and his followers...

 

Ruakili ~ Demons and Shadows

 

We were led to the merchant Ugu by one of the people at the mining camp. As we enter the city, we see the people going home. The person who lead us to Ugu is named Kukal, he is a mining captain. Layla says that she has forgotten something, and she is to go back into the camp with one of the mining captains. Rukael, Shadow, Elliriana, Rukia, and Vex go into Ugu's shop. We turn around and see about 10 pitch-black skinned people with weapons that we have never seen before, and their eyes were glowing light pink. Vex asks Ugu, "Who are these people" Ugu does not reply, and the leader of the people beckons to Ugu and he translates to us, "What brings you here?" Shadow bends down to collect his bones (the bones were slapped out of his hands by one of the pitch black men) and the leader throws a punch at him, Shadow lunges with his bare hands at the leader after he goes into rage mode. Vex throws a knife at the leader and misses. Elli and Rukia grab five knives apiece from a table in the back room on the right side on a table. Shadow lunges and misses. Elli and Rukia head over to the opposite table. Shadow hits the leader and did no damage. Elli and Rukia grab one bags of kupri apiece. Shadow attacks and causes no damage. Elli and Rukia look for places to escape and see a grass rug behind Ugu's pedestal. Vex tries to drop-kick one of the strangers and fails, he is knocked down and winded. Shadow then tries to strangle the leader and fails. Elli and Rukia look under the green rug and find a hole with a rope ladder going down it. Vex takes 1 damage from the monster. Rukael continues to crouch down behind the table. Shadow tries to hit the leader and succeeds but causing no damage. Elli and Rukia search and grab the grass mat and then go down the hole they find. Vex has -13 damage and dies. Shadow tries to hold on to the leaders neck and succeds, but the leader breaks free. Elli and Rukia make a torch. Shadow attacks the leader and succeeds, he does 4 damage. Elli lights the torch and starts jogging down the tunnel with Rukia. Shadow attacks the leader and succeeds, doing 4 damage.

The leader rips out of Shadows grasp and his eyes start glowing an iridescent white and he has a pale-white aura. Shadow tries to strangle the leader and succeeds but causes no damage. Shadow runs at the wall of spears the others strangers have and dies, not from the spears, but because Rage had ended. Elli and Rukia continue to walk until they come to a hole with a grass covering over it, they see a rope ladder and starlight. they climb up and cannot see anyone. They manage to get right outside of the city...

 

 

April 12, 2008 ~ The Reunion

 

Ruakili ~ The Golden Door's Hermit

 

Elli and Rukia are walking toward Palau when they hear crashing through the underbrush. Then, after a while it stops. -Layla is walking and hears voices. -Elli and Rukia start backing away and shout out "Who's there?" -"It's Rukael". Another voice says, "Im here". "This is Elli and Rukia, who is "Im"?" The voice yells back,"Its Layla." They all find each other and Rukia asks Rukael, "What happened to you?" Rukael replies, "I cowered behind the table of meat and they let me go." Elli asks Layla, "What happened to you?" Layla replies with a kinda freaked our voice, "The bodyguard stopped me in the middle of the woods, turned around and told me that i needed to run away because he was told to kill me. He looked like he was resisting something, then he chopped his own head off." Rukia asks, "Do you want to go back to Palau?" Everyone agrees to go back. Rukia tries direction sense and succeeds. They come to a place where they can see Mt. Hua behind them and volcanic ash in front of them, they find out that they are on the other side of the mountain. Layla asks, "What's inside the volcano?" And she starts walking up to the mountain, then starts walking back down. She tells us that she found a door, and that it has drawling on it. The sun shines bright on the door. She walks back toward the door, and Elli, Rukia, and Rukeal start walking east around the mountain, while watching Layla. Layla walks toward us and tells us, " There was writing on the door and a lot of pictures, there was a picture of 1,000s of people bowing down toward a fire. There was a picture of a mountain that look a lot like Mount Hua, there was fire traveling along the sky toward the mountain. there was a picture of a black figure that looked like rock shooting something at the fire. There was a picture of people making a monument to the fire. Rukeal sees footprints in the sand, going right toward the shore. They decide to make a fire. Elli makes a large fire. We all pray to a Fire God and nothing happens. Layla decides to see if the door is open, and disappears. Elli moves around to get a better view of the door, and she sees that layla cannot be seen. After about 30 min, Layla starts walking back toward them, and Elli calls out " Are you ok?". Layla replies with a weird voice, "Absolutely fine, but we wont be if we stay here much longer." The group decides to walk to Palau along the west coast. Layla tells them that the door just swung open, and she saw a long tunnel, the door shut behind her, and there was fire lighting her way. She ended up at a fork in the path, she chose the tunnel on the left. Then saw writing that was really neat, like someone spent moths drawling it. Then she saw a wall with writing and hand prints, she put her hand in the imprints, and the wall opened and she turned around and rocks fell in front of her. She turned back around to climb up the ladder and the rocks stopped falling, at the top of the ladder there was carpet that covered a doorway. When she got to the top of the ladder, a gruff voice called out to her, "Who's there?" "Layla" ,she replied. The voice asked what was happening outside the mountain, and when she told him, he said that Hua had sent messengers to punish the people, because they were not worshiping Hua like they should. He had only one eye, and his left arm and right leg was bones. He said, "There is a blue gem in the kupree fields that you need to find, it is very hot, and I don't know how you can carry it. Shimshi also stole a necklace from the mountain, an dI need it." Layla thinks she should put on the necklace, and do something to the blue gem. He say's, "You need to get a box that is in a city to the west and bring all of these items back to me for this to subside, make haste". On her way out, she went down the other tunnel and she saw more writing. There is a large wall with silver writing at the end. Layla turned around, and came back, and out of the door. The group goes along the shoreline toward Palau, following Layla. On the 4th night, layla and Rukeal notice a rustling in the grass and a kind of snorting. They try to wake up Elli and Rukia. Rukia wakes up quietly, and Elli wakes up and shouts extremely loud, " What , what do you need?! What's going on!?" The Mama bore comes out with her babies and makes loud noises.

 

 

Palau/Ruakili ~ The Golden Door's Tomb Part 1

 

The party of Tex, Rayoo, Khi are standing around after the bandits have robbed them, when they see a group of 5 coming toward them, one of the group shouts "Do not kill us, we are here to help", Tex yells "Come closer so we may talk, but don't come to close." The group walks closer, then one of the group, what looks to be the leader, is asked where they comes from, and she replies "Palau, Gobo Shimshi sent us." Tex says "We have noticed that you have someone who looks like one of our members with you, do you know a Shadow?" One of the group replies "Yes, that is my twin brother," "You have one of Gobo Shimshi's guards, so we shall trust you for now, but right now, we need to run, now." They hear a singsong voice that sounds like evil chanting coming from Ruakili, both groups start walking to Ruakili. Tex and a member of the other group walk ahead and Tex hears a thump-thump-thump and the chanting, so they decide to go and hide. The chanting gets louder and the midgets pass by them but do not see them. They here a clicking sound that is getting louder and faster, the grass about 100 feet in front of them explodes. The midgets go directly into palau. the 2 groups see smoke coming from palau along the grass and it is getting hard to breath. As the groups are moving along the paths, they see dead people and dead wild dogs, they also see scores of wild boar lying everywhere. They camp and introduce themselves, the other group contains a scribe Nana, cook Nabukaku, crafter Wolfbane, hunter Shade, guard Seth. They keep going and when they come near the coast, they hear talking, so Shade and Tex go to check it out. Shade goes toward the boar and people, Tex goes back to the group. Three boars ran past Tex, mama and baby boars. Nabukaku and Tex go to join Shade. Rukia heres stomping in the grass. And notice the boars are gone so it's not them. Tex and Nabukaku found the missing group and called everyone together and all shared experiences while walking back toward the volcano. Come to a point at the volcano with a golden door. Scribe reads the door "In the beginning, Loa'mahal ruled over all. To him we prayed, to him we gave thanks. But Taecchan grew jealous. Together we fought under the leadership of the Shimshi. In the last battle both the evil one and our master fell. In here they lie." We go in the door and jets of flames light the way. Scribe reads the walls that seem to be a list of names. So and So such and such follower of Loa'mahal. Come to a fork and go right, flames follow. Scribe reads, "Lomahal lies behind this wall, ...to reach the remains of our master." as shade goes up to investigate the wall, he trips and falls through the wall, the rest of the group except Layla and Nana follows. As they step through, a huge wall of fire forms behinds them. Wolfbane decides to put his knife through the fire and burns some of his arm hair off. Fire begins to light the way for them on the walls.

Ruakili/Quaha ~ The Golden Doors Tomb Part 2

 

We continue down the passageway, everything is pitch black around us, we can see each other but nothing else. Shade looks around more clearly and tells us that there are two passageways.

"There's a cave that looks like it goes on forever, the second cave however, leads to a cavern that has a rope ladder that leads to a thatch covering"

Artemis speaks out "Do we want to go on forever? Or go to the ladder?"

We decide to take the ladder.

But just before we reach the ladder, there appears to be another route that heads off to the left but is blocked by a enormous stone wall. "I'll go check it out" says Tenri. After about a minute he comes back and says "Its just a regular old stone wall"

We continue to the ladder and climb up into a room that looks small enough to house about ten people, junk litters the floor, beyond the room there is a curtain that hangs from the ceiling, it looks about the size to hide a bed. Artemis walks forward and rips the curtain off, there lies the old man. Wrinkles line his face from old age. The man looks at us and speaks in a hoarse whisper "Do you know Layla?"

"Yes" says Rukia,

"Did you get the items?" He asks,

"No, we didn't" Rukia says,

"Then why are you here?" He says with a voice that stopped us dead in our tracks.

Rukia is the first to speak "The burned down the Kupri fields, how do we get out of this...place?"

"I know of a near-way-out cave" He says smiling,

Rayoo butts in "Do you know of Loa'mahal's fate?"

The old man give him a stern look and says "That, is not you place to ask"

Rukia interjects "Do you know of the layout of the world before? In the olden times?"

The old man closes his eyes and frowns "I remember a city to the right of the island, and a city we are in now"

"Do you know of a Shimshi?" Rayoo asks,

The old man looks a Rayoo and answers "Yes"

"Do you know anything about him?" Rayoo asks,

The old man smiles "Just of Talla Shimshi"

Rayoo pauses, then asks "What are these...items?"

The old man smile fades "You will use them to heal the island of evil"

Rayoo pauses to think, "Black monsters, they are the evil, this happened before, they came here and could not get out"

The old man smiles again "Are you going to get the items or not?"

"What is you name sir?" asks Artemis,

The old man looks at him and speaks "Priest Necknott, are you going to retrieve the items?"

Rayoo asks the right question "How?"

Necknott pauses and frowns, " I know of a gem the priests use to have in the big city, the other two objects are, a box with the symbol of Hua on it, the last, is a...a...a small object attached to a chain Talla used to have"

Rayoo asks "Do you have any food?"

Necknott laughs "Just bugs"

Rukia looks up from a deep thought "If Shimshi has the necklace, what would happen if the monsters get it?"

Necknott's smiles fades "I don't know, will you please go get the items?"

"YES!" says Rayoo, impatient,

Necknott leans back, "Now, for the way out, past the wall of fire there is a tunnel, at the end there is a door, I have tried many times to open it but, I am too old"

Rayoo asks "Can't you come with us?" Necknott smiles "No, The gods were displeased with me and they dried up the only spring, I have tried to ask forgiveness, but none has come"

We all say goodbye and head down the ladder, past the giant stone wall and into the cavern with the fire wall, but, the fire is no longer there. Nabukaku walks forward were the wall used to be, jets of fire shoot up, catching Nabukaku by surprise, and on fire. Nabukaku stops, drops, and rolls on the ground screaming. The fire is extinguished immediately. Nabukaku stands up shaking, his clothes are badly burnt. Rukia tries to heal him buts fails. The wall of fire disappears once more. Nabukaku says shaking "I-I can't walk f-far"

We all see the tunnel, a faint, blueish glow surrounds the tunnel. Rukia tries once more to heal Nabukaku and successfully heals him enough for him to walk. We all, walk down the hall way, after about 150 ft. we stop. There is a wall of pitch darkness in front of us. Artemis and Tenri both make a torch and wave it in the darkness. The flames successfully lights up about five feet in front of us. We continue on. After 70ft. we enter the black wall. The blueish glow disappears. The only light is the from two torches. We keep walking and Tenri and Artemis are the first to notice, followed by everyone else. There, in front of them is...

A door.

The door is pitch black and has no hinges, and no handles. It looks like a big black spot on the wall. Rayoo tries to open the door and fails to do so. Rayoo asks Shade and Tenri to help. They all push, but for nothing.

Rukia shrugs and says "Open sesame!"

No effect what-so-ever.

Tenri walks forward and inspects the door and finds nothing suspicious, he runs his hands around the door and feels a small, smooth indent in a diamond shape. Artemis steps forward and pushes the indent, nothing happens. We all seem to have given up hope when we realize Rukael is wearing a necklace that has a diamond on it.

 

Flashback

 

The black monsters gave Rukael the necklace to understand them.

 

Un-flashback

 

Rukael puts the diamond in the indent. A perfect fit! The door glows a faded blue and opens a crack. Rayoo pushes it open and we all step inside an extremely large room. There are piles and piles upon piles of massive pieces of junk that weigh tons. Rukia checks to see if there are any matches to the cylinder and is unsuccessful, but she notices a faded ring around the cylinder. Artemis spots a walkway through the junk, then a fork that leads to an upright ramp and the other leads to a black wall. As we get closer, we notice that the black wall has small indents in it, big enough to fit a person inside.

Rayoo and Shade veer off to check it out, they find that there are dozens of holes. Shade feels it and it feels like nothing that he has ever felt. They see a very big hole, big enough for three people and a worn out bottom, Shade presses it but its solid.

Shade hops up and climbs the wall about halfway when he sees a big hole up top. Shade crawls in and see a tan oval shape thing, a few unlit torches and a mirror. Shade walks over to the bed and picks it up, it feels and looks like huamen skin! He throws it out to hole.

 

Back at the bottom, a pink thing falls down and almost hits Rayoo, then, we hear a loud gonging noise.

 

Shade stops and listens, Boy, this mirror sure makes a weird noise when I hit it with my club he thinks. Shade stops and looks over past the hole, he can see the black door glow bright blue, shadows criss and cross as they get closer. "Shoot" says Shade. He stays and sees four black things come out of the piles of junk. He sees thirty black creatures coming out of the black door every second. Shade looks down at us and yells "We have a problem!" He climbs down and starts yelling "Get up the ramp! Hurry! RUN!" We didn't give it a seconds notice. We look back and all we see is half the room filled with the black creatures screaming. We all run up the stairs...fast. Ahead, we see a door and light coming through the cracks, Artemis darts ahead and opens the door. We all rush outside and catch our breath. We all look around and there is the ocean to our right, dead grass as far as the eye can see, and behind us, the black creatures are coming out the door. Five or six of them make it out, but screech and scream as soon as they hit daylight. They cower back inside, and we all rush forward and slam the door shut.

The monsters are screaming and shouting and Rukael steps forward and listens,

"Fools! You have entered the sanctum! You must DIE!!"

Rukael asks nervously "Why?"

Suddenly the screaming stops, an utter, eerie silence replaces it, then, one of them speaks, "You understand. Come, follow us so we can introduce you to the master!"

"Can I bring a friend?" asks Rukael,

The black monsters chuckle, "We will not harm you, but if you bring anyone else, they will never get out"

"Will I be able to get out?" asks Rukael nervously,

Again, they chuckle, "In good time"

Rukael takes a deep breath, and steps in.

The monsters grab him, lifting him above their heads, the screaming commences once again. They carry him to the black wall and heave him into one of the one-man indents, one of the large pieces of junk is place in front of it. The screaming ceases, Rukael can faintly hear in the darkness, "Master will be here shortly"

 

Out of the volcano, the group all stands there stunned. Then, the black door opens and two tall black creatures throw a huamen out in tattered clothes. We all stare, dumbstruck. Tenri wastes no time and uses divine intervention in a last ditch effort to save Rukael.

 

Black. That's all Rukael sees. Then, the piece of junk is thrown out of the way, light floods in the hole, blinding Rukael, and a figure stands there, it wears a cloak and carries a large staff, around its neck there is a necklace, it looks like the one Rukael has.

 

Tenri sits down, "That should do it" he says.

 

Then, the cloaked figure speaks in a hoarse voice, "They chose you? Why are you here?

Rukael answers nervously "I was told to meet you here"

The cloaked figure looks up, "Are you what huamen call, hungry?"

Rukael is dumbstruck at the question "Uh...I'm fine"

The cloaked figure tries again "But, aren't you hungry?"

Rukael sees that this is going nowhere, "Okay, fine"

The cloaked figure chuckles "Follow"

Rukael hops down and follows him about fifteen feet to a piece of junk, the figure pulls a another piece of junk out of the way and there is an entrance to a room with a table, that table has a mountain of food. Rukael stares, his mouth watering. The cloaked figure laughs, "Do you follow a god?"

Rukael looks over "No"

The cloaked figure stops laughing, "Do you know of Loa'mahal"

Rukael answers "Yes"

He asks again "Do you know of Teccan?"

Rukael answers yet again "Yes"

The cloaked figure speaks with an authority in his voice "I, am god, you will worship me and so will the world"

Rukael sees no way out of this, "Yes"

The cloaked figure, satisfied, speaks "I will let you go, only if you tell everyone you meet to follow me, tell them I am the only god, and if you tell anyone different, I will know" he growled the last three words.

Rukael asks one last question "What is you name?"

The cloaked figure looks up, "My name is Polchen"

 

Nabukaku, wary of the stranger, throws a rock at him and misses, he throws again but misses. Rukia steps forward, interrupting the stoning, "What is your name? And what happened to you? " she asks.

The teen looks up "My name is Goutwea Flyingmist, I am a fisherman and a merchant from Palau. I was traveling to Ruakili when I saw that the city was deserted, I was flanked by these black monsters, they took me into that room and shoved me into a hole in the wall and put an object in front of it, they took my supplies, of course I then realized the fish I had caught were rotten, so, I was stuck in there for about two days when one of them crawled in and said 'you'll be good for master' and knocked me out! I remember being put in a cage then nothing else, when I awoke, that person was throwing rocks at me!"

Suddenly Ruakel appears through the door, Tenri hops up "It worked!" he shouted.

We all decide to head to Kuaha to retrieve the box from the temple there. On the way we pass through Ruakili, everything is silent, just our feet walking is the only noise that echoes off the abandoned buildings. We quickly head through the city.

About 100 yards out of the city we look back at the volcano "What about Layla and Nana?" Rukia asks, suddenly, we hear footsteps.

 

The two people in the distance suddenly look up and there is a big group in front of them, about twenty feet away, they hear shouting.

 

Rukia yells out "LAYLA?! NANA?!"

 

The two hear their names being called, Nana yells out "HELLO!"

 

We all regroup and set up camp, telling each other of our adventures.

The morning sun rises up from the hills and bathes us in its light. We get up and pack out stuff and head off to Kuaha. About halfway through the day, when the sun is at its highest, Shade sees nothing but ruins from his home town. Flyingmist runs ahead to the ocean to fish while we survey the damage to Kuaha. Everything has been blown to bits, like someone stuck one or two pieces of dynamite in each home. Shade cries out "Look!"

We all turn to see where the temple had been, there is a massive pile of huamen. Suddenly, a black creature appears and runs headlong into the pile and starts digging we see that one of its arms is bent. We all are shocked.

Rukael runs ahead to talk with it, "What happened here?"

The black monster stops and looks at him and smiles "We destroyed it"

"Why?" asks Rukael

"Not needed" it says "Must be cleansed" and it starts digging again,

Rukael tries again "What are you looking for?"

It stops again "Something for master"

Rukael challenges it "I know the master"

"Few do" it chuckles

"The master said I had to convert people"

"Master is god"

"We also, met Necknott"

"I know of Necknott"

"Are you on our side?"

"No, I have just heard of his name"

"We are looking for a box"

The black creature lights up "I need to find it! TELL ME MORE!!"

"Um, must be a different box, for, um, Shade's...mom!"

The black creature scowls and continues digging

"What happened to your arm?"

The creature sighs "I was attacked by boar on the way here"

"Are there others?"

The creature, agitated, says "Are you going to continue with questions?! I must dig!"

"Is there any one here to help you look?"

"I have poor job" it sighs, then gets back to digging.

Rukael, looks back at us and shrugs. We continue to look for the box in the rubble.

Shade looks back at the creature and he sees that its found something and darts off, Shade yells "Guys? GUYS!!!"

Artemis and Nabukaku both look over and dart off towards the creature, Shade loads a rock in his sling and slings it at the creature, it hits it in the back of the head and it stumbles but recovers to continue running. Artemis gains ground, Shade slings again and hits it again in the back of the head, it stumbled but recovers. Artemis gains even more ground, Shade loads one more and slings it as hard as he can, direct hit. The creature stumbles and tries to recover but it falls to the ground. Artemis gains even more ground and is ten yards away when the creature tries to get back up. Artemis takes a running leap and slams headlong into the creature, knocking it down.

"I need help!!" shouts Artemis as he tries to wrestle it to the ground. Rayoo catches up and holds one of its arm down and Artemis has the other. Shade gets there and stands over it with his club, ready to strike.

Tenri hops on the creature and wrestles the object away from it.

Rukael runs up and talks to the creature, the creature yells first though "Why did you take box?!!

Rukael lies "The master told us to bring him the box!!"

The creature tenses up, "Master told me to take it!"

"But the master told us to help you find the box!" Rukael lies again,

"But, but master never told me about you when we last spoke!"

"He told us that you were in the war and he told us to find the box!"

"Why did you not tell me before?!"

"You..." Rukael thinks hard, "Were to busy!"

The creature spits "I don't believe you!"

The creature wrestles free from Artemis and Rayoo and takes off, to the volcano.

Quaha/Palau ~ The Rod and the Orb

 

The black creature is nothing but a speck in the landscape, we decide that Palau would be our best shot at finding Gobo Shimshi and the necklace. We start off to Palau, but, half a days journey later, we start to notice grunting and snorting behind us. Suddenly a huge boar leaps out, we all stay perfectly still, then Shade whispers: "Hey big guy!"

We all look at him like he's nuts.

"Can you stay here?"

We start to edge away and the boar remains. We ease out of the clearing and continue walking. But...the boar trots out of the brush. The boar comes up to th group and starts sniffing for food. Tenri acts quickly and chucks a knapsack with a little food inside. The boar, apparently more interested in berries, trots off after it. We dash off, hoping that the boar is a slow eater.

A little ways later, Rayoo spots something in the grass. Whatever it was, it was extremely filthy and crawling towards us. Artemis notices that it is a huamen, and that he has a long obisdion knife in his hand. He looks like he's prepared to kill. We cautiously approach the man and discover that from his stomach to his toes...is gone. He's been cut in half.

Khi dashes forward and starts to heal him, he succeeds in slowing the blood flow but nothing else. A few minutes later, the man wakes up and croaks for water, we gently give him water and food, then, the man speaks, "My name is Mokon, I was a guard to Gobo Shimshi in Palau, but, there, we were attacked by people with rods. I was lucky enough to escape and hide under dead comrades. But, the rods, they were no ordinary rods, they shot fire and every time they did, little boxes fell out. But then, something fell on top of the pile and cut me in half. I managed to escape, but barely. Let me warn you though...one of the rods was different, it shot fire out ten times quicker than the other rods. I also have...depressing news...Gobo Shimshi...is dead."

Mokon fall unconscious, we make camp were we are. Rayoo, Tenri and Rukael take the first watch. A few hours into the night, a piercing scream is heard waking everybody.

"They say: 'I've found him! I've found him!' " Rukael says.

Mokon wakes from his deep sleep "Oh no! They've found me!!"

Suddenly, a black creature flies through the air and tackles Mokon, Mokon yells to us: "Run!! I'll stall them!!" He slices at the creature to no effect. We run to the northwest, to the Kupri Fields. Artemis looks back and sees Mokon take his blade and stab himself. In his last breath, he yells "Run, run...Run!"

We follow his last wishes and start running to the beach. A few hours later, we set up camp. Nothing happens and we sleep soundly all night.

Early afternoon we set off towards Palau, an hour later, war cries are heard. Artemis runs ahead and he sees about fifty bandits running right towards them. The bandits reach them in no time and they surround them. Then, one of them steps forward, Artemis shouts "What do you want?"

"Give us all your Kupri and we'll let you go" the man says. It is the same bandit group that attacked this group previously.

We give them all we have and they leave.

We continue until nightfall to Palau, but we notice our food stock is low, so Artemis and Shade go hunt for berries. They come back with a day's worth of food. And so, the night passes uneventfully.

Early the next morning we start off to Palau, but before long we see Palau, or what was Palau. We stop and Artemis and Shade go hunting for food and come back with a rabbit, berries and some roots.

We set off for the Kupri Fields and make it to the ocean by dark. We are now right next to Palau, the walls are gone and the city is in utter ruin.

We set up camp and just as we are, a group of sentries are seen walking around the city. The group ducks and buries themselves in the sand. (The reason why is because the black creature's have heat seeking vision).

The guards stop and look towards were they are. Then, they turn around and walk away. Suddenly, Shade sees and glowing object in the water. He wades in and goes under. A minute passes, then Sade pops out with the ruby-colored orb. He rushes towards us with the orb tightly wound in the cloth from the volcano. Tenri opens up the box to put it in. He dumps out some strange material and Shade dumps the orb in the box.

"ERRRR!!" Shade screams, he grits his teeth. The orb has seared his hand.

"Great job Shade!" Artemis says.

Khi heals Shade's hand and they continue to walk on to the Kupri Fields.

We reach the Kupri Fields and Artemis finds the secret hatch that leads to Gobo Shimshi's office.

We pop out in a big room with a bunch of people sleeping in it. Seth steps forward and steps on a man's hand, he pops up immediately and whispers "What are you doing out of bed?! Get back in bed!"

Seth gulps "I need to go into that room"

The man nods and slumps back to sleep. Seth walks over to the door he randomly pointed at and signals the others over. One-by-one we make it over into a room that appears to be storage for food and water. While the others are eating and drinking, Artemis opens a door and finds himself in a room that looks like the one they had just come from. But with more people and two black creatures standing guard over two door's in the room. Artemis quickly closes that door and moves on to the next. He opens it ever-so-quietly and steps in.

There is a black creature on a bed. Artemis sees one of the rods next to the bed on a crate. He quietly moves to it but then the man's right hand snaps to it.

No getting the rod.

Artemis opens a door on the wall next to the man and steps in a room. Artemis plugs his nose and turns to see a pile of dead people and Gobo Shimshi's head on a bone spear. No necklace. Artemis decides to tell the others and has Rayoo, Seth, Shade and Tenri follow him in the room with the man. Artemis sees that the man has a necklace on. Tenri says a quick prayer and they all attack. The creature sits up and rubs his eyes. He hits Seth, sending him sprawling on the floor. Shade takes a chance and grabs the rod! He backs up while the others fight. The rod feels cool under his hands. Then, a boom goes off, fire shoots out and Artemis is sent sprawling against the wall, he's been shot.

Palau ~ Mistake

 

Artemis is flung into the wall and is motionless on the ground. Khi rushes in and takes Artemis aside while Rayoo slams his fist into the creature. The creature's head twitches and looks at him, the creature gets up in battle stance. Shade shouts: "What's going on?!"

The creature swings fast at Rayoo, Rayoo barely avoids being hit by it's powerful punch.

 

Back in the storage room, Tenri, Nana, Rukael and Goutwea look in and Goutwea crouches behind the door, hoping not to be seen.

 

Back in the room, Shade tries to hit the creature with his club. He successfully hits him, but it bounces right off of him. Rayoo is almost at the storage room door, but he gets a swift and powerful punch in the gut. Rayoo drops groaning. Shade picks up the rod and fires at it, the bullet zips past him and almost hits Tenri in the head. Rayoo grapples onto the creature's legs and brings it down on its back. Tenri rushes in and tries to stab it, followed by Rukael, they both miss.

Shade pounces on him and hits him hard, but it just bounces off. Rayoo makes an attempt and tries to stab the creature, but the creature slams the knife into the ground, breaking it.

Back over with Khi and Artemis, Khi tries to heal Artemis, Artemis awakens! He's alive, but still can't fight.

The creature tries to get up but Rayoo punches it and sends it back down. Shade is struggling on keeping the creature down and is flung off. Tenri lunges at the creature with his knife, he hits, but it just bounces off. Rukael does the same but the knife actually penetrates the skin! Rayoo slams his fist in its face but it has no effect. Shade slams his club in his face, still no effect. Goutwea stabs it to no effect!

Finally, Tenri takes the burning orb and drops it on its head. The creature back hand's it and the orb shatters into a million pieces.

The creature is just too strong as it stands up, Artemis throws a knife at it, but the creature dodges it!

Shade tries to pick up the shards and fumbles around and falls on his face. Rayoo tries once more to grapple the creature. The creature, not disturbed by Rayoo, kicks Rayoo full force in the face. Knocking him out.

Then, Rukael shouts "Stop! Teccan wanted me to convert these people! I still have to!"

"They recieve the death sentence!"

"But I think I'm really starting to get through to them! Don't you follow Teccan?!"

The creature laughs "I don't follow Teccan. I...am Teccan"

Teccan smirks and slams his fist into Shade, sending him flying and knocking him out.

Rukael runs back with Nana to hide.

Goutwea jumps to try and get the necklace that Teccan wears. He misses and is sent flying by it. He slams into the wall and loses consciousness. Tenri gets behind Artemis, Teccan lunges forward to hit Tenri, Tenri dodges. Artemis tries to take the necklace but Teccan pulls Artemis into him, Tenri reaches his hand out and grabs the necklace and he pulls down hard.

The necklace has been torn off. Teccan tries to backhand Artemis, he dodges and Teccan stumbles. Teccan falls to the floor.

Palau-Ruakili ~ The beginning of the end

 

The aftermath of the battle settles down and Shade, Goutwea, and Rayoo both wake up. We decide to head to the volcano with the items to give to the old man. We get into the barracks when a man is walking at us. He seems more interested at what is behind us. We let him pass and continue to the hatch. But...someone is sleeping on it. Artemis leans down and tries to movie him, suddenly, the person's hand snaps up and grabs a hold of Artemis' neck...choking him. Rayoo grabs the hand and forces it off of Artemis' neck. We carefully head into the trapdoor and out into the Kupri Fields. We all head to the volcano but we travel at night. We make it through the day and continue at night, suddenly, two wild dogs spring out. Goutwea tosses a fish at one dog. It snarfs it down and growls at us. Rayoo lunges at one of the dogs and tumbles, one of the dogs leaps at Rayoo and we all run...escaping. The next few days pass uneventfully and on the last day Ruakili comes into site. The next few hours pass and we reach the front gates. We do not head through the city but go around to get to the door. An hour later, we reach the ladder and we all climb up. Artemis yells "Necknott! Come out! We have your itmes!"

Necknott steps out into the light "Do you have the itmes?"

"Sorta"

"What do you mean?"

"Funny thing is...we were on our way here and we kinda, sorta broke the orb"

"Where are the remains of the orb?"

Goutwea hands him the remains and suddenly, Necknott grins as the orb remains fall into place. Necknott's voice changes as we hear approaching footsteps behind us. Six black creatures stand there. Rukael's neclace starts to glow, Rukael steps forward and gives Necknott the box. The black creatures start chanting "Nik-not! Nik not!" and they raise their weapons...pistols. And charge. The items levitate and the orb becomes Necknott's eye, the other items become armor. Necknott steps into the suit and Goutwea flies at him. Necknott turns around at him and a beam of light shoots out of his eye at Goutwea and vaporizes Goutwea. Necknott laughs and shoots a hole at the ceiling and flies up laughing.

 

Flashback

The items mold into a suit of armor as Artemis is regretting this decision. Suddenly, Artemis feels a pain in his back, he turns around and Seth is there with a broken knife in his hand. Artemis falls and Shade and Rayoo jump Seth.

Un-Flashback

 

Necknott flies high over the island and laughs.

 

Seth falls to the ground, dead.

 

Artemis is on the ground bleeding from his wound.

 

Necknott takes one final look at the island, then...the island blows up.

 

Rukael's necklace explodes and sends shards into his neck...killing him instantly.

 

Everyone is knocked as the island explodes

Sep.27

 

Were inside a rock cavern and were all cozy. a midget says. "My names not important at the moment how are you.?"

Wade ask questions, And the midget says he has no clue what happend and keeps saying he dosen't know anything. That he found us here in his hidding place.

 

"Why did the midget man fear the light?" Wade asked.

 

He's hiding because of a war that died out and he didn't know that it ended. He has lost track of time and they asked him about his god and he doesn't know where he went. He knows ways out, but he did not want you to because we were hurt. They asked questions of the dead in the volcano, but he didn't know because they were dead when they were found. We asked if there was anything out of place. He said it was only us. Wade asked about jewels and the old man and the midget thought of him to be the god shooting fire from his eyes. He was the enemy. He doesn't know if his god can be killed. He left the battle with no strength he ran away and did not see the results of the battle against his god.

 

Lou Ma Hall and his god fought with the animals attempting to destroy the island. Ta Kan was his god, but was not the god of everything. There is a danger in the volcano with a shiny rock in a room. There is a warning in that room that goes off if anything, but Ta Kan goes into it. He did not want anyone to touch the shiny rock, his god made sure that only the dark creatures could. His god has not fought any other gods besides Lou Ma Hall. Zeni is the midget's name. We asked if he could guide us out. "We can trust you can you trust us?" Rukia asked. He said "I've lived by myself I see why not." He would fight us if he was stronger, but he will not. He will take us part of the way.

 

They leave, walking through tunnels. They see a door with light seeping through the frame. Seth walked out first. Everything is overgrown, trees everywhere with mountains. Time has passed and now there is no civilization left. We asked for food and water in exchange for something, but he said that he'd gladly give it away.

 

"What part of the island are we on?" We asked, he simply answered 'north side.' Seth got dual daggers and we have three days of food and one day of water. We didn't seem dangerous so he didn't kill us when we were sleeping. Seth is waiting in the tunnel. You hear screaming in the woods. There are at least two voices that you can tell of, one in anger and one needing help. We go towards the noise..and erick and felicia are in the back. Looks like a small clearing ing the forest. The screamings all around us. Then it stops. Sth runs a hundred freat north east. walkks 50ft more. As he walk 5ft he sees layla run fast as she ever has. Then she goes into the tree. He climbs up and layla falls down. a man picks her up and runs. but he blends ion with the woods.Seth sees multiple things in the woods moving. Seth and wade go and see what it is. Giant tree things grabbed us. To be continued.

 

Koto ~ Not in Kansas anymore

 

The group starts out in the wilderness getting captured by sentient trees. They are being carried extremely quickly northward.

Susu is squished and takes 4 points of damage.

As he is being carried Tenrei see smoke off in the distance.

Eilli is squished and takes 6 points of damage, and Khi is squished and takes 1 point of damage.

Rayoo says “I hear a shrieking noise coming from the sentient trees every time they moved.”

They come upon a group of 7 people, they are small and have strange clothing that covers their face and hair, they have black sticks that are long with a slight angled side, they speak a flowing type of speech, some words sound familiar, but different.

The leader throws a small device to Nana and she catches it and she speaks into the device and asks the leader “who are you what are you doing here, why did these trees take us?”

She throws the device back; another man listens to it, comes up to her and asks who are you? To everyone else but Nana, it just sounds like he’s talking in his native language.

She tells us “they are letting us go, and he says that he doesn’t know where Hua is, they just saw us coming out of their enemy’s camp, and they think were traitors, and they are taking us to their chief.”

Nana asks “who is your god?” they avoid the question and then she asks

“Who are you?”

“We are elves.”

“Are you all elves?”

“All my people”

“What are you going to do to us?”

“Whatever our chief decides”

“What should we expect?”

“To see the chief”

Rayoo says “I see more of the elves and they have their odd weapons and they look like they are ready for attack. The tree people are walking behind the people with the odd weapons”

“I'm not sure I should tell you”

“Who are you going to attack?”

“You.”

“Where did you come from?”

“Koto.”

“Are we still on the island of Palau?”

“Where is Palau? We are on the island of Koto.”

“What is the name of your enemies?”

“You will have to ask the chief.”

The group comes upon the town with huge walls which look like they are made of the same material of the boom sticks.

The doors open and they come into the city. They go to a building and go in; they see a man sitting at a box writing with a stick, he looks up and says “Ah! Who are you?”

Rayoo answers “We are lost travelers from the city of Hua"

the entire group can understand him.

The leader walks up and hands him a paper, the chief looks at it and reads it then sighs, “my lieutenant says that he found you at my enemies’ camp” “we were helping an old disfigured man and when we gave him the items that he asked for, it turned into some sort of armor and it turned out that he was our enemy Tekan, and his soldiers had black skin, and glowing eyes” “did the weapons look like this?” and the chief showed him a boom stick “Yes! It did”

“what happened?”

wade explained what had happened on the trip and the chief asked

“what happened to your island?”

“It was blown up”

“Ah! You look like one of my people!” The chief motions Rayoo forward, and Rayoo notices that the chief had tapered ears, very much like his own

“hold still, my men are going to come around and collect your weapons” the groups weapons are collected and the chief asks “where did you get these? These are antiques!”

“These are our modern weapons”

“I would like to keep these and put them in our museums”

“how will we protect ourselves?”

“You do not need to, you are in my care”

“How can we trust you?”

“Well, you can trust me, or we can put in out into the wilderness without any supplies.”

“Then we trust you, can we see the museum?”

“No because it’s not open”

“can we be citizens here?”

“Because you are under my protection, you are temporarily citizens.”

“Where will we stay?”

“You may stay at an inn” Rayoo shows the chief kupree and says

“is this of any value here?”

“This is a rare crystal, how many do you have?”

“We have 1000 kupree”

“I will give you 1000 moki for your kupree.”

“Okay.” “You may leave, but you may not leave the city”
